PHOTOSENSITIVE'S PHOTO-ONE - BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY WEEKEND WORKSHOP 07 - 29 AUGUST 2010
The Eye LOOKS, The Mind SEES, The Camera FRAMES, The photographer INTERPRETS, resulting in an IMAGE that is UNIQUE. No two people SEE things the same. The CONTROLS on the CAMERA are limited and learning how to use them can be acquired. But is that enough? Can LOOKING transcend to SEEING? Can VISUAL EXPRESSION be enhanced through APPRECIATING LIGHT and understanding COMPOSITION?
Five years ago PhotoSensitive was initiated as a platform that tries to bring about a synthesis between the answers to such questions. Professional photographers Shailan Parker and Joginder Singh were keenly interested in demystifying the process and started weekend photography workshops to make photography as a medium of creative expression accessible to those seriously interested. The basic photography workshop was structured to explain the nuances of photography through multimedia presentations, outdoor shoots and interactive picture reviews.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WORKSHOP?
Considering growth does not stop with the culmination of a workshop, PhotoSensitive was designed in a manner that allows participants to interact with those from previous workshops and even join them on weekend shoots / slide shows that Photosensitive keeps organizing.
